The UN has declared the "International Year of Sustainable Energy for All". UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon proclaimed the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All at the start of the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi. [

Germany becomes a partner in the South African Renewables Initiative (SARI)

Germany is participating in the South African initiative for a massive expansion of renewable energies, SARI. In a ceremony on 7 December Germany signed the Declaration of Intent on the South African Renewables Initiative (SARI) together with representatives from Denmark, Great Britain, Norway, Switzerland and the European Investment Bank. EEG surcharge remains stable during strong growth

Improved support conditions for renewable energy sources
