Wow! What a five months!

The day after I wrote the last update, and came to this site, I came down with bacterial meningitis. I lost my vestibular balance completely and all hearing. But, I will be teaching this fall. Amazing. I've worked hard to gain new brain connections for balance and regularly go for walks, walk the dog, throw a football. Not the best, but getting there. I have had simultaneous cochlear implant surgery and will be activated in two weeks. That will give me a month to relearn speech, now digital and electrical, before the kids come in this fall. Wow. Anyways, enjoy your downloads.

ActiveInspire flipcharts

I've begun updating all of my current flipcharts to the new software: ActiveInspire. This software is backwards compatible, but I'll keep the old ones in an archive for those who have ActiveStudio. I added answer keys to all of the flipcharts, adjusted colors, fixed a few oddities, and the first batch, Words for Within-word spellers, is ready. These are for students who still struggle with vowels and letters inside of the words.

Cleaned up Sidebar

After downloading flipcharts recently, I decided to clean up the sidebar. I updated links and the countdown timer for the end of the first marking period. I'm going to publicize the flipchart page this weekend. Enjoy.

Graphic Organizer flipcharts

What is more annoying to you as a teacher, or to your classroom learning environment, then distracting student behaviors?These are time management issues that must be resolved. Besides using your classroom management plan, you can also address motivation to help keep students on task and focused.

I wrote an article about how to start working with Promethean Board flipcharts. It can be viewed onsite, of offsite at Ezinearticles. I covers the rationale for flipcharts and the basic overlays and screens that you will encounter when you access it. It is a great beginning article.

Different types of organization

I narrowed down the organization to three types: those needed by the physical classroom such as posters, bulletin boards, and desks, those needed by the students, and those needed by the teacher (which lends itself as the facilitator of the physical classroom and the students ). Due to this, I've finished the first two, and my next focus will be on the teacher organization.
